The 76ers acquired forward Ersan Ilyasova and a conditional draft pick Tuesday from the Oklahoma City Thunder for Jerami Grant.
The conditional pick is a top-20-protected first-rounder in 2020. If it's not conveyed, it would convert to two second-round picks, in the 2022 and 2023 drafts.
"This is a unique deal that allows us to address both short-term needs and longer-term goals at the same time," Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo said in a statement. "Ersan will bring us much-needed perimeter shooting, floor spacing and roster balance, while the acquisition of a future pick or picks should continue to drive our ability to generate future roster-building options."
The 6-foot-10 Ilyasova is regarded as a stretch four. He's good at coming off screens and taking opponents off the dribble, having shot 37.5 percent from the floor this year and 44.3 percent for his career. The 29-year-old, however, has averaged only 5.0 points in 20.7 minutes in three games with the Thunder. He was traded to Oklahoma City from the Orlando Magic along with Victor Olidapo for Serge Ibaki.
The Sixers think Ilyasova will open things up for Joel Embiid at center. Meanwhile, the Thunder have been interested in Grant for a while.
