OAKLAND, Calif. _ The Golden State Warriors are no longer unbeatable.
The Warriors lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 113-104, on Thursday at Oracle Arena, snapping an 11-game winning streak that initially had signs of lasting. The Sixers outscored the Warriors, 42-26, in the third quarter.
Warriors guard Stephen Curry had 41 points while shooting 14-of-27 from the field and 10-of-18 from 3. Outside of Curry, though, the Warriors only went 1-of-20 from deep. The Sixers also featured Joel Embiid (26 points), Ben Simmons (26) and Landry Shamet (10) in double figures. And the Sixers outrebounded the Warriors, 49-37.
The Warriors (36-15) have lost to various marquee teams at Oracle this season, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. The Warriors next face the Lakers on Saturday that will feature LeBron James, who had been sidelined until Thursday with a groin injury that he suffered in a Christmas Day win over the Warriors.
The Warriors were without Klay Thompson, who was ruled out shortly before tipoff with an unspecified illness.
