The Oklahoma City Thunder were able to reportedly sign Isaiah Joe to a multi-year deal on Saturday after the Philadelphia 76ers waived the 23-year-old guard.
Sixers head coach Doc Rivers commented on the situation and said he’s happy Joe was able to find a new NBA home relatively quickly.
“I talked to him yesterday (Saturday) and I’m very happy,” said coach Doc Rivers at practice on Sunday. “He’s got a shot and a shot to play. So I want him to do well. He’s a great kid.”
With the Thunder having a plethora of young and exciting guards on the roster, Joe will have to earn his way to get consistent minutes. The 35-percent three-point shooter could certainly gain minutes with his outside shooting.
