Six youths arrested after horrific attack on homeless man

Police have arrested six teenagers after an horrific attack on a homeless man in a car park.

Video circulating on social media shows a lengthy attack on a man as he lies on the ground.

The youths kick him in the head and torso, stamp on his face and abuse him in an attack that lasts several minutes.

At one point a glass bottle is smashed against the man's head, reports CornwallLive.

At least one girl was involved in the violent incident in a car park in Truro, Cornwall.

The whole attack was filmed and the video has been seen widely on social media.

Thje man was sitting in a car park with his bedding and clothes when he was attacked.

Devon and Cornwall Police detective inspector Steve Moorcroft said of the arrests: "We are aware of footage that is circulating across social media which appears to show a horrific assault on a homeless man by a gang of teenagers, in Truro.

"Six teenagers are currently in police custody having been arrested in connection to this incident and enquiries continue into this matter.

"I wish to reassure the public that the matter is being dealt with, but ask that for the sake of the victim, that people do not share the footage of the attack.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101@dc.police.uk quoting log 973 12 February."
