Six youngsters train with Manchester United first-team ahead of Watford fixture

Manchester United invited a host of academy players to train with the first team on Tuesday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepares his side to face Watford this weekend.

United are back in action when they travel to Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon and have had to begin preparations for the match with many of their star players still away on international duty.

Given the depleted options available to Solskjaer at the start of the week United have once again made up the numbers by rewarding some of their most promising young players with a priceless opportunity to train with the senior side.

Attacking duo Charlie McNeill and Hannibal were pictured taking part in the latest session on Tuesday while there was also involvement for promising defenders Teden Mengi and Alvaro Fernandez.

Youth goalkeepers Dermot Mee and Radek Vitek were also present at the session with Ivorian winger Amad involved as he nears his return to first-team action after an injury lay-off.

With many international stars expected to return to Carrington in the days to come it is unlikely we will see any of the youngsters involved against Watford this weekend.

In regards to the manager United are no closer to making a change ahead of the match against Watford with the club reluctant to sack Solskjaer without a contingency plan in place.
