A video showing what could be the UK’s fattest pug has gone viral with viewers loving the footage of the pooch, whose owners are working on helping him lose weight.
Owner Chloe Brittain, 23, from Cardiff, Wales, shared the video earlier this week capturing her holding up her adorable six-year-old pug Archie and joking that she wanted a new pug.
Archie - who currently weighs a whopping 9.8kg - was attacked by a husky in February 2018 which left him needing leg surgery.
After the surgery, the dog struggled to walk and spent a large proportion of his days eating and sleeping - which led to him putting on a huge amount of weight.
The video has raked in 4.6 million views and over 800,000 likes.
Chloe, who works as a sales assistant, has spoken of how Archie was left traumatised after the attack and didn’t want to go out on walks.
"If we put his harness on, he would attempt to get it off and he would cry anytime we took him outside,” she said.

"It left him bed-bound and meant he didn't burn off any of the food we gave him during the day.
"When we are able to take him on walks, some people say he's the biggest dog they've ever seen!
Chloe said that one commenter on TikTok accused her of neglecting her dog and overfeeding him.

“But we try to walk him twice a day and people don't understand the reasons why he put on all this weight so quickly,” she explained.
"We currently have Archie on a strict, balanced diet with him only having one bowl of food a day and carrots as a snack.
"My dog is so loved by so many people and the vet has told us that his weight isn't impacting his quality of life in any way!"

Archie’s weight puts him well above the standard size for his breed, with the standard for pugs being 6.3kg.
Chloe added: "Archie was badly injured in the attack and at the time, we didn't think he was going to make it.
"I've had a lot of people reach out to me with their tips and tricks for helping an overweight dog and I'm really grateful for that.
"We take great care of him and are working on helping him lose the weight".
