NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: Six waterfalls in Khao Luang National Park have been closed for safety reasons following heavy rain, park chief Wikan Thuadao said on Sunday.
The six waterfalls are: Phrom Lok and Ai Khieo in Phrom Khiri district; Karom in Lansaka district; Tha Phae in Chang Klang district; Krung Ching in Nop Phitam district, and Nua Fa in Phipun district.
The falls are closed from Nov 25-28.
Many low-lying areas in the province have been flooded. They include tambons Wang Ang, Khuan Nong Hong, Ko Khan and Khao Phrathong in Cha Uat district and parts of Bang Khan, Thung Song and Ron Phibun districts.
Local administrations have been instructed to monitor the water situation closely.
The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a number of warnings of isolated torrential downpours in 12 southern provinces on Nov 25-28. They are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun.
