Six waterfalls in Khao Luang National Park have been closed. This is for safety reasons, park chief Wikan Thuadao said on Sunday.
The closures have come after heavy downpours in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
The six waterfalls are Phrom Lok and Ai Khieo in Phrom Khiri district, Karom in Lansaka district, Tha Phae in Chang Klang district, Krung Ching in Nop Phitam district and Nua Fa in Phipun district. They are expected to reopen on Wednesday.
Many low-lying areas in the province have been flooded. Local administrations have been instructed to monitor the water situation closely.
The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a number of warnings of heavy downpours in 12 southern provinces over the last few days.
