Six things you can do now that Nicola Sturgeon has relaxed some lockdown restrictions

Scotland has entered the first phase of its road to recovery.

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that the gradual easing of restrictions will start tomorrow morning.

Our new found freedoms come after months of strict lockdown and will be welcomed by millions across the country.

But she cautioned that it's going to be a long and slow process, with no flicking of a switch.

The Phase One early steps are small and future ones dependant on keeping the Covid-19 infection rate, or 'R' number, under control.

In every situation, strict social distancing and hygiene rule must be maintained.

The move comes on the same day the Scottish Government's new coronavirus contact tracing system Test and Protect goes live.

And the First Minister warned that the pace of further lifting of restriction requires the entire country's cooperation.

So what changes have been made?

Meeting up - from tomorrow you can meet with another household, outside, including gardens, as long as you stay two metres apart. There should be a maximum of eight people and you should not meet with any more than one other household in one day.

Public spaces - also from tomorrow you can sit or sunbathe in parks, beaches and other open public spaces, as long as it is only a short distance (around five miles) from you home. Social distancing rules must be applied.

Leisure - unrestricted non-contact, outdoor activities are permitted in your local area from tomorrow, for example golf, hiking, canoeing, outdoor swimming, angling.

Community facilities - waste and recycling and garden centres will open from Monday.

Retail - garden centres are permitted to reopen from tomorrow, along with drive through food outlets.

Work - some areas of non-essential outdoor work, including parts of the construction industry agreed with the Scottish Government under the restart plan.
