Finally, as the summer months approach and Ireland’s weather looks set to be sunny throughout June, things are looking up for summer 2021.
A number of restrictions will be eased across June 2 and June 7, meaning there will be more freedom to enjoy what Ireland has to offer.
Here are some things to look forward to in the month of June:
Outdoor pubs
Ireland’s restaurants and pubs will reopen for outdoor dining on June 7, marking the most significant lifting of restrictions seen since December 2020.
Although there is a cap on the number of people who can sit at one table (6), the government has scrapped the time limit and the €9 substantial meal rule.
You better get a booking quick though, as many restaurants fill up until late July!
Staycations
On June 2, all accommodation services reopen across Ireland.
So if you can’t wait until international restrictions lift, on July 19, you can get a long-awaited break away closer to home.
Euros

Coverage of the Euros kicks off on June 11 with Turkey v Italy at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 20:00.
You can catch all the highlights and some of the matches on RTE for the duration of the championship.
Blockbuster films

Cinemas look set for a reopening in June, and so avid movie-goers will be happy to know there are plenty of blockbusters to catch throughout the month.
Among the biggest films dropping in Ireland in June are, The Quiet Place II, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, and In The Heights.
Driver Theory
If you’re one of the thousands of people affected by the long-running delays and have yet to sit your theory test, June could be your month!
According to the latest easing of restrictions, there will be a capacity for 25,000 tests per month to take place from June 7.
Gyms reopening
Fitness fans across the country have been deprived of the gym for the last number of months.
So, it’s no doubt that many are awaiting the reopening for individual training on June 7.
It’s understood that they will revert to the booking systems that were in place before Christmas.
