One of the stars of the hit musical Six which is currently in Belfast has hit out after an audience member allegedly filmed part of the show.

The show, about the six wives of Henry VIII, is running at the Grand Opera House until August 21 with the first show taking place on Wednesday night, August 17.

She said: "I've just finished the show which is why I look like this. Stop filming the show, I have said it before, I'll say it again, stop filming the show, and it's not because we are like 'well if you can't afford to watch the show then you can't watch the show', it's not about that.

"It is about the fact it is copyright infringement and it's illegal, it's illegal, it's illegal. It's not because we are privileged, it's because it's illegal, it's illegal, don't do it. Cheers.

"Also, if someone from front of house tells you to stop filming the show, stop filming the show."

She then clarified that the audience are allowed the film the Megasix at the end of the show. The audience are told before the show begins that filming is not allowed until 'the Queens' tell you so. Then for the final number the cast encourage the audience to get their phones out to film the final number.

In a statement, the Grand Opera House said: "The smash-hit musical Six returned to the Grand Opera House stage this week with a sell-out run!

"Whilst we love our audiences sharing their experience, we, like all theatres, must adhere to strict copyright. For Six, filming/photography is only permitted at the end of the show for this reason.

"Our front of house team approached a member of the audience who was filming before this point to advise them that no filming/photography was permitted."
