Six suspects held in dawn raids as police investigate the murder of Manchester rapper Miguel Reynolds

Wearing pyjamas, a suspect is led away by police investigating the murder of Manchester rapper Miguel Reynolds.

The man was one of six men arrested following raids in Merseyside and the West Midlands on Thursday morning.

He appeared to be upset at the waiting cameras and threated to 'smash one of your heads in' as he was led away.

The raids come just over a year after Miguel, from south Manchester, was 'lured' to Liverpool to buy a car only to become the target of a robbery that led to him being shot at, chased and killed.

The 21-year-old, who had links to Moss Side and Whalley Range, was blasted in the neck by one of his pursuers.

Miguel was an aspiring rapper who performed under the name Lil Gwop Boy, and was also known as Migz.

Police say he was 'lured' to Liverpool but it was a trap and he never came home.

He left his Manchester home with a male friend, the pair driving to Netherton in Liverpool.

But when he got there police believe he was robbed by a gang of at least four males on Marie Curie Avenue where a handgun was fired.

No-one was injured in that blast but moments later, on nearby Assissian Crescent, a bullet struck Miguel in his neck.

While his friend escaped unhurt, Miguel had been mortally injured, dying later in hospital despite desperate efforts to save him.

Last week Merseyside Police launched a fresh appeal for information on the first anniversary of his murder on June 7, 2018.

Following this morning's raids, Superintendent Graeme Robson said: "We are now going to work with the Crown Prosecution Service to review the evidence in the case and make decisions on potential charges from there."

He described the murder as a 'shocking incident' while the raids carried out by police were 'really significant'.
