Six rules to follow to get the best deals ahead of Amazon Spring Sale

Amazon has announced a huge three-day sale which will see thousands of great deals and big savings. But ahead of the sale, there are a number of things shoppers should do in advance to ensure they’re prepared, get the best deals, save money and don’t miss out.

The Spring Sale starts at 6pm on Monday, March 27, running until 11.59pm on Wednesday, March 29.

Customers will be able to enjoy up to 40 per cent off, including deals on entertainment such as offers on Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Gaming, Kindle Unlimited and Amazon First Reads.

Here’s everything you can do to prepare for the Amazon Spring Sale:

Download the Amazon App

Shoppers should first download the Amazon app to their phone, so that they can access deals on the go from the palm of their hand. This will be one of the quickest ways to shop on the day - but of course, the deals will also be available on the website, if you prefer to shop from a desktop.

Set up an Amazon account

Then you’ll need to make sure you have an account set up, in order to have a smooth and speedy check out. Amazon Prime costs £8.99 a month, or £95 for the year and is best for those who order regularly from the site to save on postage fees.

It’s important to weigh up if your savings will be worth the fee if you don’t already have a Prime membership, but if you’re buying something that saves more than £9, then it’s a pretty good deal.

Make a wish list

Next you’ll want to add items to your Wish List, so that when the sale goes live, you can see if any of the products you had your eye on have been reduced in price. Amazon will automatically send you notifications if your top picks are included in a Spring Sale deal.

Join the Amazon newsletter

Amazon also recommends signing up for their newsletter, which will bring all of the latest news, facts, analysis, and original stories about Amazon delivered to your inbox.

This is a great way to browse offers and be one of the first to know when sales are happening in the future, too - such as the iconic Prime Day sale.

Sign up for deal alerts

Another thing to do this weekend before the sale is to subscribe to receive deal alert notifications related to their recent Amazon searches and recently viewed items on-site and in the app. To do this open Amazon Shopping and tap the Home icon at the bottom and tap ‘create deal alerts’ located below the banner.

Bookmark the Wow! Deals page

If you’re on a desktop, you’ll want to bookmark this Wow! Deals page which will feature ever-changing deals throughout the Spring Sale. Wow! Deals are products from top brands at ‘unbelievable discounts’. Each one will be available for just two hours, and there will be very limited quantities, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Amazon is expected to reduce thousands of items from a wide range of categories, some of which include up to 40% off on makeup and nail care from Rimmel, NYX, Max Factor and more, and up to 40% on premium beauty products from brands including ELEMIS, Urban Decay and Elizabeth Arden.

There's also set to be 35% off on smartphones, wearables and accessories from Google, Samsung, OnePlus, and more. There's a 30% discount on Amazon Fashion too for men, women, and kids, from brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s and Calvin Klein.

Shoppers will also be able to save up to 40% on video games, controllers, and accessories from Microsoft, Warner Bros, Square Enix, Ubisoft and more. Sports, toys, baby, pets, health and personal care, furniture, appliances and more are all categories set to feature in the sale.

To keep up to date with the Amazon Spring sale when it launches at 6pm on Monday, March 27th, look out for our live blog coverage on the day, where we will be bringing you the best deals as they go live on the Amazon site.
