Six newborn dogs have been found dead after they were stolen in an armed robbery.

The pure breed French Bulldog puppies were just one day old, Greater Manchester Police said.

Two armed thieves took eight puppies during the house robbery in Stretford on Tuesday night.

They had threatened a pregnant woman and her young children with a knife.

On a happier note, though, two of the puppies survived and were reunited with their mother and owner on Friday.

After the robbery, cops released footage of the men, while Det Sgt Dave Jones had said: “It’s completely shocking that a pregnant woman and her three young children have faced such a terrifying ordeal, and we are determined to find the men responsible.”

The crooks had demanded cash and mobile phone from the 26-year-old mother. No one was hurt.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7747, quoting reference number 2218 of October 24, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
