Six people injured in crash between minibus and car on A985 in Fife

Six people have been injured in a crash between a minibus and a car in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the A985 near Dunfermline around 1.20am on Sunday.

Firefighters removed six people from the wreckage of the vehicles before they were taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "Operations control mobilised two fire appliances to the A985where a minibus and a car had collided.

"Firefighters safely removed six casualties and transferred them to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"All six were taken to hospital for further treatment."

Fire crews later left the area, though the road remains closed west of the Cairneyhill Roundabout towards High Valleyfield.

Police are advising drivers to avoid the area.

Police Scotland said: "Please be advised that the A985 Cairneyhill Roundabout westbound to High Valleyfield is currently closed in both directions as emergency services respond to a road traffic collision.

"Please avoid the area wherever possible. Diversion signposted."
