Six new COVID-19 cases for ACT as testing numbers double

The ACT has reported six new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Monday as five new exposure locations have been announced.

The new cases bring the active total to 144.

Testing spiked with 3040 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday, up from Monday's reporting which saw 1521 negative tests returned.

Eight people are in hospital with four of those on a ventilator in intensive care.

Meantime, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 97.7 per cent.

ACT exposure locations

ACT Health has announced five new exposure locations as of Tuesday.

Anyone who attended Healthy Start at 46 Hibberson Street, Gungahlin on November 26 between 9am to 10am and 11am to 3.30pm is considered a casual contact.

People who visited Club Lime Gungahlin at Gungahlin Square on November 25 between 9.20am and 10.20am are also casual contacts.

The same goes for Erindale Healthcare in Wanniassa on November 24 between 10.35am and 11.40am.

Visitors to the Hellenic Club bistro in Woden on November 22 between 5pm and 8pm are also casual contacts.

Anyone who attended Club Lime Denman Prospect on November 16 between 5am and 8.30am as well as on November 15 from 7am to 8.30am.

NSW has recorded 179 COVID-19 cases and three deaths as health authorities remain on alert after after four Omicron variant infections were confirmed.

The new cases were diagnosed from 62,166 tests undertaken in the 24-hours to 8pm on Monday.

There are 160 patients in hospital, 26 of them in ICU.

Some 94.5 per cent of people 16 and older have had one vaccine dose, while 92.4 per cent are fully jabbed.

Victoria has recorded another six deaths from COVID-19 and 918 new cases, as the state hits 91 per cent fully vaccinated for eligible residents above 12 years old.

There are 11,417 active coronavirus cases in the state and 305 patients in hospital, 41 people in intensive care with 19 on a ventilator.

Meanwhile, in Queensland COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandatory for school staff and workers in both state and private schools, early childhood centres, correctional centres, youth detention facilities and airports.
