Six Nations table and results: Final standings for 2019 tournament

Wales successfully sealed their first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2012 after beating defending champions Ireland in front of a raucous home crowd at a wet Principality Stadium.

Ireland’s bonus-point victory over France last time out meant they held a, albeit faint, chance of retaining their title – but those hopes were soon dashed in Cardiff.

The hosts' 14th successive Test victory secured a fourth Grand Slam overall and a third under Kiwi coach Warren Gatland in what is his final year at the helm before the coaching reins are handed over to Wayne Pivac.

Denied a chance at the title, England failed to regain the Calcutta Cup in the final match of the competition after an extraordinary 38-38 draw against Scotland.

Eddie Jones's side led 31-7 at the interval, only to concede six unanswered tries in an extraordinary second half that will live long in the memory.

England eventually claimed a share of the spoils thanks to George Ford's last-gasp effort.

In the early match on Super Saturday, Italy could not make their periods of pressure tell as they slumped to a 25-14 defeat to France in Rome - their 22nd straight Six Nations loss.
