Six Nations coronavirus: Mako Vunipola goes into self-isolation and is unavailable for England v Wales game

England prop Mako Vunipola won't face Wales this weekend after going into self-isolation as a coronavirus precaution.

The Saracens prop was named in a 34-man squad on Monday ahead of the Six Nations clash with Wayne Pivac's side this Saturday but did not attend camp after travelling through Hong Kong on his return from Tonga over the weekend.

"Mako is not in camp on medical grounds," said an RFU spokesperson.

"He is not sick but it is a precaution."

The 29-year-old missed England's victory over Ireland after flying to Tonga for family reasons.

But after his return flight took him through Hong Kong, he has gone into an isolation period that will likely rule him out of England's remaining games.

It is believed Vunipola has shown no symptoms of the illness, with his absence simply a precaution.

In his place, England still have Joe Marler and Ellis Genge to call upon as loose-head props.
