Welcome to Standard Sport's coverage of the 2020 Six Nations LIVE.
Andy Farrell began his Ireland reign with a hard-fought 19-12 victory over Scotland in Dublin.
All of the hosts' points came from Johnny Sexton, who scored the only try of the match in the first half, while Adam Hastings - deputising for Finn Russell - kept Gregor Townsend's men within striking distance throughout.
Stuart Hogg had Scotland's best chance in the second half, but he inexplicably dropped the ball with the try-line at his mercy.
Earlier on Saturday, Wales got their title defence off to a roaring start with an emphatic 42-0 shut-out win over Italy in Cardiff.
Prolific wing Josh Adams notched a hat-trick of tries in Wayne Pivac's first match in charge, while Nick Tompkins also scored on debut and George North made sure of a late bonus point.
England begin their Six Nations campaign against France in Paris on Sunday.
