Six Nations 2019: France ring changes after England defeat as Scotland lose Finn Russell to injury

France have responded to their 44-8 defeat by England at Twickenham by overhauling their team once more for Saturday’s clash with Scotland.

Coach Jacques Brunel made six changes between their first and second Championship games.

There are four personnel and two positional changes this week in an announcement that comes 48 hours earlier than expected.

Gone from the squad are the experienced Clermont Auvergne half-backs Morgan Parra and Camille Lopez, who started the first two matches of the Championship, but have been publicly critical of Brunel.

They have been replaced by the Toulouse pair Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack.

Yoann Huget returns to the wing and Gael Fickou to centre, with Thomas Ramos starting at full-back for the first time.

In the pack, there is one change, with Wenceslas Lauret returning for Yacouba Camara.

Maxime Medard, who started the opening match against Wales in which France threw away a 16-0 half-time lead to lose, returns to the bench.

Scotland will be without Finn Russell for the match after the fly-half failed a concussion test having suffered a head knock during Racing 92’s defeat by Toulouse on Sunday.

The Scots have called up Duncan Weir as cover for the 26-year-old.
