Six musical director 'excited' but 'approaching with trepidation' ahead of West End return

The producer of the first musical to return to the West End since the pandemic says he is “excited” for its comeback but admits the opening is being approached with “trepidation”.

Six — the award-winning show about the wives of King Henry VIII — will return to the Lyric Theatre on November 14 for an 11-week run.

Producer Kenny Wax said: “We are very excited,” he said. “But we are approaching it with trepidation. The road ahead is not clear… I am thrilled to be giving 100 staff their jobs back, that is the real triumph. But there is a genuine concern that we will not be able to stay open indefinitely.”

Six has a small cast and a short running time — about 75 minutes — and no interval. Cast and crew will face regular testing and the theatre will be subject to social distancing rules and reduced capacity.

Tickets for Six are on sale now, and can be bought here.
