Six more covid-19 deaths in Liverpool City Region hospitals

Six further people have died in the Liverpool City Region's hospitals after testing positive for covid-19.

The region is suffering at the hands of the virus once more, with coronavirus hospital admissions now around the same level as those seen in the devastating first wave.

In today's update from the NHS, there were a further six covid-19 deaths across our region's hospitals.

Two were recorded at Liverpool's main University hospital Trust, which is edging close to the tragic 600 death milestone.

Three further deaths were registered at the St Helens and Knowsley Trust, with one further covid death at Southport's NHS Trust.

The dates of the deaths range from October 14 to October 20, with the majority being on or after October 17.

The full numbers of coronavirus deaths for NHS Trusts in our region since the pandemic began are as follows:

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 20

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 593 (+2)

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 183 (+1)

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 243 (+3)

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust - 10

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 262

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 160

Across the country, NHS England said that a further 94 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 31,275.

Patients were aged between 49 and 97 years old. All but one patient (aged 71) had known underlying health conditions.
