Six men and one woman arrested over haul of deadly weapons

A string of arrests were made this morning after a number of firearms were recovered in separate incidents.

The arrests were in connection with enquiries made following the recovery of a firearm and ammunition from an address in Patmos Street, Everton; firearms seized from an address in Beryl Walk, Fazakerley, both in February 2020; and a firearm seized from an address in Handfield Street, Everton in February 2019.

In Patmos Street, a submachine pistol was found by police when they raided a house and discovered the weapon hidden in the loft.

The incident in Beryl Walk, Fazakerley, related to police finding a rusty cowboy-style revolver stashed in a drawstring JD Sports carrier bag.

And a handgun was seized after police raided a house in Handfield Street, Everton.

The seven people arrested this morning (Thursday, February 11) were:

A 36-year-old man of no fixed abode on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a firearm and conspiracy to possess a firearm.
