Six Man City players and Manchester United's Paul Pogba included in PFA Team of the Year

Six Manchester City players have been included in the PFA's Premier League Team of the Year this season, with Paul Pogba Manchester United's sole representative.

Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero were all recognised for their performances this season, with Pep Guardiola's side on course for an unprecedented treble of domestic trophies.

The Blues will pip Liverpool to the post and retain the Premier League title for the first time in their history with victory in each of their three remaining fixtures, after beating Manchester United 2-0 in their game in hand at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Bernardo and last season's PFA Young Player of the Year winner, Leroy Sané, were on target as City recorded their 11th consecutive league victory to extend United's run of poor form to seven defeats in nine - their worst run since 1962.

Pogba, 26, has netted 16 goals in 43 outings for the Reds this season to assert himself as the club's top scorer ahead of Romelu Lukaku (15) and Marcus Rashford (13).

Liverpool had four representatives in the Team of the Year, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane included.

The Team of the Year was comprised of players from just three teams for the first time in history.
