Jannik Sinner ruthlessly swept Novak Djokovic aside in straight sets to book his place in the final of the Six Kings Slam.
The world No2 is one of six of tennis’ top players taking part in the new exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and he made light work of 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic to move into Sunday’s final 6-4 6-2.
The Italian’s serve was on fire, as he sent down 10 aces to Djokovic’s two, and he hit 27 winners to his opponent’s 10.
Sinner broke Djokovic in the third game of the first set, and from then on, it was an uphill battle for the 38-year-old Serb.
Sinner raced into a 5-1 lead in the second, breaking in the first and fifth games, and he saved two break-back points in the sixth.
He continued his momentum to close out the affair in just over an hour, and he takes on his old nemesis Alcaraz in the final, after the Spaniard defeated Taylor Fritz by the same scoreline in the earlier semi-final.
“I'm sorry you couldn't see a longer match today, it's his fault, not my fault!” Djokovic told the Riyadh crowd afterwards.
“I tried to intimidate him a little bit at that last game with the last 15 points, but it didn't work.
“It felt like a runaway train. He was smacking the ball from all corners.
“I was just trying to, trying to hang in there, but he was just too good, so well done to him and good luck in the finals.”
