Six iconic buildings that were less expensive to build than the National Children's Hospital

The National Children's Hospital has been the subject of extensive controversy ever since plans were first announced.

Rising costs and seemingly never ending delays have meant that the hospital has now become known as one of the most expensive buildings in the world.

Just yesterday it was revealed that more than 600 claims for extra costs for more than €200 million have been submitted by BAM the main contractor of the hospital.

TDs were told that the hospital, which is set to be one of the most expensive in the world, will be delayed again.

It is now estimated that the hospital will cost an estimated €2.4 billion.
