Six hurt in Belfast as car crashes into crowd

Six people have been injured with one confirmed to be in a very serious condition after a car crashed into a crowd of people in Belfast on Monday night.

The incident happened around 8.30pm in the Apollo Road/Boucher Road area in the south of the city. Police later arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the crash.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland ambulance service confirmed that one person was very seriously injured and that five other people sustained a combination of fractures and facial injuries. The car is still at the scene.

The injured – four males and two females aged in their teens and 20s – have been taken to hospital.
