Six hurt after bus ploughs into scaffolding in Maida Vale

Six people have been injured after a double-decker bus ploughed into scaffolding outside a shop in west London.

The bus veered into the shop front on Harrow Road in Maida Wale at about 2.30pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service treated the injured at the scene including the driver of the Number 18 service.

None of the injuries sustained are thought to be serious.

A number of road closures and safety cordons are in place around the scene. Footage showed shocked passengers getting off the bus as paramedics, police and firefighters arrived on the scene.

The Met is appealing for any witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.

No arrests have been made.

One witness posted on X: “The entire road is blocked right now in both directions. Very lucky it didn't happen an hour later during the school rush, as this shop is always busy then.”
