Spain has been cut from the quarantine-free 'air bridge' list after its rate of coronavirus infections tripled in just a fortnight.
Scots who had booked summer holidays to the country confident that they wouldn't have to self-isolate for 14 days on return home saw their plans thrown into disarray following the government's shock U-turn.

The pandemic is far from over in Europe, with a handful of popular destinations seeing a recent sharp rise in cases amid fears of a second wave.

France, Germany and Croatia - all on the Scotland's 'air bridge' list - have all reported a spike in cases recently.
Figures show the average number of people testing positive per 100,000 of the population are going up, according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Here are six countries could be cut from Scotland's quarantine-free list:
France
Daily rise: 1,130
Per 100,000 residents (14-day average): 14.59
Annual UK visitors: 10.3 million
France has seen cases rise recently.
The number of new cases per 100,000 people on average is currently 14.59 - which is almost identical to the UK.
If France continues to see a spike of new infections, it could be added to the quaranitne list.
The FCO advises that you can travel to France and return without going into quarantine.
Germany
Daily rise: 409
Per 100,000 (14-day average): 7.78
Annual UK visitors: 3.3 million
There are fears of a second wave in Germany following a cluster of outbreaks.
A politician has already warned: “The second wave of coronavirus is already here".
Health authorities suggested the new cases could be traced to large celebrations and from travellers returning from abroad.
The FCO states that Germany is exempt from advice against all non-essential international travel.
Italy
Daily rise: 254
Per 100,000 (14-day average): 5.03
Annual UK visitors: 5.1 million
Italy, which saw one of the biggest outbreaks in Europe, has managed to keep cases steady since easing lockdown.
However, tourist hotspots such as Rome has seen a spike of new cases.

Greece
Daily rise: 31
Per 100,000 (14-day average): 3.67
Annual UK visitors: 3.4 million
Greece has effectively managed the outbreak of coronavirus.
However, there wear fears of a second wave from tourists.
Greek authorities have told people to wear face masks in all enclosed spaces, including restaurants and supermarkets.
The number of new cases is currently low in Greece, meaning it is less likely to be added to the UK quarantine list.
However, the country may decide to impose travel restrictions on Scots arriving.

Croatia
Daily rise: 65
Per 100,000 (14-day average): 27.46
Annual UK visitors: 1.5million
Croatia, which had no new cases at one point in June, has seen a surge in infections over recent weeks.
On July 11, the country declared its highest ever daily rate of 140 cases.
Due to fears of a second wave, the country may be added to the quarantine list or impose restrictions on holidaymakers jetting in.
The FCO against travel to Croatia, and you will not need to quarantine on return.
Turkey
Daily rise: 927
Per 100,000 (14-day average): 16.09
Annual UK visitors: 2.3 million
Coronavirus infections have been going down in Turkey recently following fears of a second spike last month.
Turkish authorities require visitors to undergo a medical evaluation to check for symptoms of coronavirus upon arrival.
Much of the country has also introduced curfews for certain times of the day and for certain groups of people, with the aim of preventing the spread of the virus.
The UK government made Turkey exempt from FCO advice against all but essential travel, and you currently do not need to go into quarantine on return from the country.
Destinations with coronavirus under control
There are now some popular destinations which have seen a drop in cases, meaning quarantine restrictions are less likely to be enforced.
The following countries have seen six or less new cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people over the last two weeks.
