Six 'friendly' pigs desperately need new home or they'll have to be destroyed

An appeal has been launched to help rehome a group of pigs and prevent them being killed.

The six animals are desperately in need of a retirement home, or they will have to be destroyed.

The two male and four female pigs were rescued once before, after being adopted just before they were sent to slaughter.

They were saved from a farm park that was going to kill the animals for meat.

But now the pigs need saving again once again finding themselves in a life-or-death situation, reports GrimsbyLive.

If no home is found for them before June 30, the pigs will sadly be “destroyed”.

A spokesperson from The Happy Pants Ranch Animal Sanctuary said: “Six pigs, currently located in mid-Lincolnshire, are being evicted from their home on June 30.

"Their current home adopted them three years ago from a farm park that was going to use them for meat.

“We have been advised by the council that the pigs will be destroyed if no home is found”.

The pigs do not need to be rehomed together, as long as they go to homes with “adequate space and a registered County Parish Holding number.”

The spokesperson added: “They have been described as friendly and sociable.

“One is a potbelly. The other five they are unsure of the breed, but they believed to be ‘large commercial’ pigs.”

Anyone interested in rehoming one or more of the pigs, should contact Pigs in the Wood Rehoming Service on Facebook.
