The arrival of spring is always a welcome one.

After months of dealing with scaly skin, and fighting dry, frizzy flyaways, it’s finally time to embrace lighter, brighter days and inject some warmth back into a winter-worn pallor.

If you’re unsure where to start, take your cues from the latest beauty trends on everyone’s lips (and cheeks and eyes). Inspired by everything from runways to red carpets, this spring is about easy-to-achieve, feel-good beauty that real women want to wear.

From the latest slew of skin-enhancing foundations to easy breezy shades of denim and wild, windswept blusher, it’s all about achieving a naturally glowing, vibrant look that radiates health and vitality.

So, whether you want a few new additions or a whole beauty bag overhaul and whether you’re a fan of minimal makeup or bold colour, totally nude nails or a bit of nail art, there’s something for everyone to love this season.

Below, you’ll find the best new beauty trends to try and the products you need to add to your basket.

Supercharged foundations

While glowing skin is always in, how you achieve it matters this spring. While some level of coverage is still a natural prerequisite, straightforward pigments just won’t cut it anymore.

Instead, reach for any number of the new hybrid foundations out there, from those that are more skincare than base to those that are custom-matched for a completely bespoke foundation finish.

Clarins Double Serum Foundation

A smart way to integrate the firming, hydrating benefits of the much-loved Double Serum with a dewy foundation, this offers medium coverage and boosted radiance thanks to light-reflecting microcrystals. For a virtually flawless finish apply with the Gua Sha inspired brush which is curved to hug the contours of your face for a more even delivery of product.

Dcypher My Custom Foundation

A few questions and a simple skin scan via your smartphone are all that stand between you and your perfect foundation.

Once you decide on what you want, Dcypher will blend your tone with a base of ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and fruit extracts for added hydration and suppleness before it’s shipped off in the post.

For extra luminosity, you can custom-blend your own Glow Booster to layer underneath.

Hermès Plein Air Luminous Matte Skincare Foundation

Hats off to this luxurious formula from Hermès that manages to be lightweight and fresh, and somehow gently mattifying all at the same time. While it works to conceal areas of unevenness or imperfections, the 82 per cent skincare base means it’s not at the expense of a healthy and hydrated skin finish.

Modern Romance blush

Blush is most definitely the MVP in your makeup bag this spring, thanks in no small part to the whimsical flush sported by Margot Robbie in Wuthering Heights.

“Blush is having a moment again because it’s no longer just about adding colour, it’s about creating structure, emotion, and attitude. It’s about a windswept, romantic, naturally flushed energy yet elevated,” explains Fred Letailleur, Prada Beauty’s makeup artist.

While any blusher will work, to get the same whimsical, windswept effect that looks as though you’ve been meandering the moors for hours, a cream formula is the easiest to work with.

Prada Touch Blush

A creamy balm that blends to a blurred, soft matte powder finish, this is a beautifully blendable, spongy formula that can be tapped on to skin to add an instant warming flush. “Sweep it high across the cheekbones in a downwards triangle that points towards the corners of the mouth to give that effortless but intentional flush,” advises Latailleur.

Tom Ford Architecture Soft Matte Blush

Blush that looks like it’s been wispily diffused over skin is key to nailing this trend, and luckily, this cream to powder formula makes that easy to achieve. To recreate the look of skin after a blowy walk, concentrate your application under the apples of your cheeks then gently taper as you move towards your jawline.

H&M Bouncy Cheek Blusher

The beauty of blusher is that it not only adds colour to your complexion, but it is an expression of health and vitality too. This springy-textured formula comes in three pretty shades and is easy to tap onto cheeks, and even eyelids and lips for a tonal look.

Three Colours Blue

It might not initially strike you as the most wearable colour in your palette, but blue of all hues is the standout shade for spring 2026, with search engine Perplexity reporting a 65 per cent increase in searches for ‘blue eyeshadow aesthetic’ in the last few months.

Edgy and unexpected but also playful and expressive, there’s a sense of freedom that comes from adorning your eyes (and even brow bones) in every shade from soft denim to deep navy.

Dior Diorshow 5 Couleurs Limited Edition in Midnight Lamé

Whether you want to play it safe with pastels or be bold with electrifying cobalt, the intensely pigmented shades in Dior’s covetable palette are all you need. For something in between, try blending all three blues for a modern spin on a classic smoky eye and use the graphite as an anchoring shade to stop it looking too pixie-ish.

Chanel Exclusive Creation Coco Denim illuminating powder

A faded chambray may not be what instantly springs to mind when you think highlighter, but this pearly blend of blue and pink pigments adds an almost otherworldly dimension to skin. Think less high voltage sparkle and more subtle incandescence. Dust it over cheekbones and brow bones for the best effect.

Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal Liner in Jeans

A mid-tone matte denim with neutral undertones of grey which ensures it suits everyone, this cerulean shade is surprisingly versatile and infinitely wearable for both day and night. “I love a blue liner,” says makeup artist Zoe Taylor. “It’s so easy to run over the waterline, or buff over the lid for a wash of colour.”

Milky Manicures

Fans of neutral manis will be pleased to hear that they are all the rage for spring, with creamy colours and textures taking centre stage.

“The milky manicure is the ultimate 'quiet luxury' look, but for 2026, we’re moving away from flat neutrals and leaning into texture,” says Daisy Kalnina, founder of The Gel Bottle. “If you want to make a sheer base feel fresh, it’s all about playing with light and 3D elements,’ she adds.

The Gel Bottle BIAB in Pillow

If plain pillowy white doesn’t feel quite enough, follow Kalnina’s lead and opt for a lightly textured overlay which will catch the light and give nails a pretty pearlescent finish. “I’m still obsessed with a glazed finish,” she adds. “Layering a soft, milky shade with a pearlescent chrome powder gives it a shell-like shimmer, that looks effortlessly luxe.”

NAVY Katey Super Fine Bladed Nippers

According to Kalnina, if you’re doing a milky mani and your prep isn't 10/10, the whole look can fall apart because the pigment is so sheer and unforgiving of mistakes. To negate that, make sure your cuticles are prepped and the nail base is smooth and free from any bumps or ridges.

Bio Sculpture Gemini Nourishing Nail Polish in Bohemian Beauty

Spring is the perfect time to experiment with nail art. This season, polka dots are adorning everything, so why not combine a milky base shade with a little on-trend enhancement? The accent shade you choose is up to you, but dusky pastels like lilac and baby blue are always fun.

A Nod to Nostalgia

Whether you want to switch up your cut, colour or even your accessories, this spring, it’s all about taking your cues from decades past.

Whether that means asking your colourist to take you Bessette blonde in honour of Ryan Murphy’s recent smash series Love Story (think elegant champagne shades and bright butter tones framing the face) or opting for an 80s-style voluminously swept side part, there’s something to suit all tastes.

Oribe Bright Blonde Shampoo

The it shade of 90s honeyed blonde made famous by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy relies on intentionally golden highlights that track all the way up to your roots. With so much honeyed colour to maintain, you’ll need a care system to tone down any brassiness.

“This shampoo isn’t too heavily pigmented, so it doesn’t stain your hair purple. Instead, it’s sheerer, so it neutralises yellow without making hair look dull,” says Adam Livermore, Oribe ambassador.

Color Wow Style on Steroids Texturizing Spray

Stars like Olivia Dean are leading the charge when it comes to pulling off that effortlessly tousled deep set side part that’s reminiscent of an 80s Cindy Crawford.

If you want to achieve the same insouciant texture, you’ll need a good styling spray. Color Wow delivers airy, definition and movement without weighing hair down.

Olaplex No.3 Hair Protector

If you’re feeling an updo for spring, word has it that the classic French twist is making a comeback. While the technique itself may take a bit of practice, getting your hair into great condition to be twisted, preened and pinned is infinitely easier.

Olaplex’s newly upgraded pre-shampoo treatment penetrates each hair strand to rebuild essential bonds and deliver healthy, strong, glossy hair in just three minutes.

Make it Matte

There’s a pleasing painterly vibe when it comes to lip trends to try for spring, with soft matte stains and blurred watercolour washes of colour cropping up everywhere from catwalks to celebrity red carpets. Case in point, Emma Stone at this year’s Oscars sporting a soft-focus taupe lip colour that experts have dubbed the ‘cloud lip’ thanks to its diffused, smudgy look.

To ensure a flawless execution, good prep helps. “Remember to give your lips a good scrub and nourish with a mask before,” says Taylor. “Always apply straight from the bullet rather than with a brush. This, plus the prep, will help create a really flawless finish.”

Summer Fridays Flushed Lip Stain

A great option for lining or filling in lips, this long-wear matte tint creates a soft haze of colour when scribbled onto lips. To accentuate a lived-in stain look, smudge the edges of your lips with fingers after application.

Buy now £17.60, Space NK

L'Oréal Paris Hyaluron Tint Lip Stain Serum

Playing with a velvety, petal-like texture is a nice way to add subtle definition to lips without having to do bold colours. This hydrating formula delivers a long-lasting matte flush without feeling dry, cakey or uncomfortable.

Merit Signature Lip Blush

Showcased beautifully by dancer and author Misty Copeland at this year’s Oscars ceremony, this sheer, matte lipstick is the perfect addition to any spring makeup bag. Featherlight and balmy in texture, it still packs enough buildable pigment to really make a statement.
