Six Dublin farms that make perfect family days out this summer

Farms are a great place for the family to go over the summer.

It’s an educational and fun opportunity for the kids as they can learn all about the animals and can get up close to them. They might even be able to feed them too!

We've rounded up the best children's farms in Dublin for you - so get the wellies out and enjoy.

This farm aims is to educate and entertain all. The animals perform in shows such as “No More Tricks” and “Sleepy Jack”, and you will get a chance to feed and pet them afterwards.

The working farm, gardens, cafe, and heritage experience offers visitors the chance to enjoy and learn about food, farming, gardens, growing and history in a natural and relaxed environment.

St. Anne's City Farm and Ecology Centre

A city farm with a donkey, a pony, chickens, pigs, and goats with free admission in St. Anne's Park.

It’s run by volunteers and you can learn about environmentally friendly farming practices, growing food, cooking food, sustainable living and reconnecting with nature in an urban area.

The Farm's roots are set firmly in the past, farming traditional breeds of animals and planting old native seeds.

Newbridge House and Farm

This is one of Dublin’s best kept secrets. The hidden gem is in rural Fingal and it’s a place where families can enjoy art, furniture and stories of times past, as well as the working farm.

You can pick up a booklet at the Admissions Desk and use it to navigate your way around the Farmyard Discovery Trail, completing challenges and learning lots on the way.

Corkagh Pet Farm

Corkagh Park is about 2km from the village of Clondalkin. It is surrounded by panoramic views of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains.

The pet farm has a number of birds and provides housing enclosures for a range of farm animals.

Dublin SPCA

DSPCA shelter educational tours (DSPCA)

This is a fun place to visit as they house many animals and wildlife in beautiful grounds and it's free to visit. People can sit and relax after visiting the Dublin SPCA centre.

There's a cafe in the shelter called the “Central Bark Cafe”, a pet supplies shop and the opportunity to buy items for adults, kids and the home.
