Six children rushed to Edinburgh hospital after minibus smashes into car

Six children have been raced to hospital in Edinburgh after the minibus they were travelling in crashed in Midlothian.

Police Scotland have now closed the road on Lady Brae near Gorebridge after the bus is reported to have collided with another vehicle.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9.05am on Tuesday morning (November 9), after reports had been made of an RTC between the bus and a car.

According to officers, the six children who were travelling in the bus have now been taken to the Edinburgh Sick Kids to be checked over as a "precaution."

The condition of both the minibus and car driver is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.05am on Tuesday, 9 November, police were called to a report of a road crash involving a car and a minibus in Lady Brae, Gorebridge.

"Emergency services attended and six children, who were travelling in the minibus, have been taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh to be checked over as a precaution.

"The road is currently closed while the vehicles are recovered."
