Six businesses run by young women in Liverpool that you can support

This International Women's Day, more of us will be looking to support female-run businesses in Liverpool.

Luckily, there's no shortage of talented and business-savvy young women in Liverpool running their own shops, salons, or companies that you can back. All these businesses are run by women under 40 and based in Liverpool, so you'd be supporting local young women achieve their goals as business owners.

The city has everything from tattoo shops to Etsy stores so if you have some money to spare and want to use it to support a local female-run business, there's sure to be something that takes your fancy.

Lady Muck

This salon is run by Hannah Jones, 33, with locations in Crosby, Bootle, Aintree, and West Derby. So, if you're in the mood to treat yourself to a trip to the salon this International Women's Day, you can try and book an appointment at any of their locations.

Holly Rice, who tattoos under the name Holly Dolly Tattoo, opened The Painted Ladies back in 2015. It's an all female-run tattoo shop, so if you fancy marking International Women's Day with some new ink, this could be the place for you.

Opulence Mobile Bar

If you've got an event to celebrate, you might consider using Opulence Mobile Bar to bring the bar service to you. Run by Helen Lowry, 32, you can hire a bar for anything from a wedding to a house party, and styled according to your chosen theme.

This pyjama company is run by Olivia Mallinson, who started the business back in October 2018 selling personalised pyjamas for every occasion. If you're in need of some new sleepwear and fancy splashing out on high quality and stylish, yet affordable pyjamas, this could be the business for you.

If you're in the market for a beautiful handmade gift, Roxiie's Treasures has got you covered. The business was founded by Rachel Gilbertson when she was just 19 back in 2013.

Scouse Girl Timber

Danielle Clair, 32, started with a lockdown DIY project and turned it into a successful business you can support on International Women's Day. She makes bespoke furniture from a workshop in her garden, creating everything from dining tables to entertainment units.
