Six arrests after stolen Audi Q3 driven the wrong way along a busy dual carriageway during police chase

Police made six arrests in the early hours of Boxing Day after a stolen Audi Q3 was driven the wrong way along a busy dual carriageway during a police chase.

Sniffer dogs and the force helicopter were scrambled.

Officers in Bolton said a number of those detained were juveniles.

All six currently remain in custody, Greater Manchester Police's Traffic Unit said.

The car - which is believed to have been stolen during a burglary on December 19 - was first seen by a police patrol in Bolton town centre at 3.45am on Boxing Day.

GMP said officers believed the Audi had been involved in a prior 'incident', but no further details have been revealed.

A police pursuit then began.

The Audi was pursued by police through Bolton and into Farnworth, where the force said it travelled the wrong way down the A666 St Peter's Way.
