Six men were arrested after armed police stormed a number of houses in Liverpool this evening.
Armed police along with matrix and uniformed officers were part of a major police operation in the Dovecot area this evening (September 2).
A number of properties were searched by the officers and a National Police Air Service helicopter was also involved in the operation which is targeting serious and organised crime in the area.

Six men were arrested during the operation and were taken into custody.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm officers are in the Dovecot area this evening, Thursday 2nd September, as part of a pre-planned operation targeting serious and organised crime in the Merseyside area.
"Matrix and uniformed police officers assisted by armed response and the National Police Air Service helicopter have been involved in the operation.
"A number of properties are being searched and six males have been arrested.

"They have been taken into custody where they will be questioned by detectives."
There was a large police presence on East Prescot Road, with officers surrounding one home and an alleyway.
