Sivo stays at Eels, knocks back union

Parramatta winger Maika Sivo will remain in Eels colours until the end of the 2023 season. (AAP)

Maika Sivo has knocked back big-money interest from French rugby, signing a two-year a deal to keep him at Parramatta until the end of 2023.

Off-contract at the end of this season, Sivo was expected to court interest from the 15-man game after Semi Radradra made the switch in 2018.

However he has long maintained that his priority was to remain with the Eels, where he has become a fan favourite since debuting in 2019.

In the time since he has scored 39 tries in 48 games, including 26 in just 24 matches at Bankwest Stadium.

The 27-year-old is the first of several off-contract Eels to be re-signed by the club, with fellow winger Blake Ferguson among those hunting a new deal.

Mitchell Moses and Ryan Matterson are also both only locked in until the end of this year, but have options in their favour for 2022.
