Sisters under the skin

Sathira Dhammasathan, a garden for women's spirituality founded by the late Mae Chee Sansanee Sthirasuta, is hosting the 5th edition of Festival du Feminin to promote women's self-discovery and empowerment on Friday and Saturday.

Founded in Paris, this international sisterhood festival aims to bring together women from different cultures to meet, share, transmit, honour and celebrate precious moments of their lives and inner paths.

It believes that women have the power to change the world if they come together as sisters undeterred by their differences; and to support and empower one another regardless of their age, race, culture, language, sexuality, religion, socioeconomic status, physical appearance and abilities.

Billed as a transformative journey by women for women, the two-day festival offers more than 20 interactive workshops to explore body-mind experiences, women's personal growth, healing arts and spirituality.

Those with inner wounds will also have the opportunity to seek healing through sisterhood, deep listening, opening up to oneself and to others, and through rituals from different spiritual traditions. A diverse group of local and international experts in self-discovery including healers, artists, psychologists, therapists, business executives and writers will assist participants in exploring the multifaceted nature of womanhood. The aim is to tap into their inner strengths, overcome insecurity, transform themselves and ultimately becoming agents of change.

The workshops include Bonding Between Mothers And Daughters; Finding Our Own Voice; Discover Our Shadow Of Intimacy; The Art Of Joy; The Healing Circle; and About Sathira-Dhammasathan And Bodhisattva Valley.

According to organiser Sylvie Baradel, Sathira Dhammasathan was chosen as the venue for the festival to honour the late Mae Chee Sansanee Sthirasuta and her lifelong dedication to helping women in distress as well as her commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue as a means to promote world peace.
