Sisters say they were drunk and disorderly after being given "something" at pub lock-in

Sisters said they ended up in court thanks to a mystery substance.

Carly Hathaway, 28, of Witch Hazel Road, Hartcliffe and Cheryl Hathaway, 24, of Acresbush Close, Withywood, appeared together before Bristol magistrates.

They admitted being drunk and disorderly in Green Street, Totterdown, on October 20.

The court heard both defendants were intoxicated and shouting and waking residents in the street.

When police arrived they swore at them and they were arrested.

Cheryl Hathaway said they had been to a pub lock-in, had been given “something” and both ended up drunk.

Carly Hathaway, of previous good character, was handed a 12 months conditional discharge with a £21 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Cheryl Hathaway was fined £40 with a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
