Sisters get tattoo of dad's final touching note after he died of Covid-19

Two sisters got a tattoo of the final note their dad wrote to them to pay tribute to him after he died of Covid-19.

Anna Harp, 27, and Abrielle Clausing, 21, said their dad Rudolph Clausing had hereditary interstitial lung disease and for this reason, they feared a coronavirus infection could be deadly for him.

The 66-year-old contracted Covid-19 last November and was in and out of the hospital for two months as he battled the disease.

One night in January, as he was recovering at home, the family noticed he was not doing well, so they called an ambulance to rush him to the hospital.

Due to his lung disease, Covid-19, and then pneumonia, Rudolph "didn't have a chance", his daughter Anna said.

Anna added: "Once he was back in, it was just like, endless, like no good news, basically, like he wasn't recovering.

"It just seemed like, his lungs were just tired and they couldn't work anymore."

When two sisters and their mum, from Siloam Springs, Arkansas, went to the hospital to say goodbye to Rudolph, they found a note he had written which read: "It has been such a good life."

After their dad's death on January 13, Anna and Abrielle kept thinking about the note he had left and decided to pay tribute to him by getting a tattoo with it, Today reports.

Abrielle said: "I automatically knew I had to have that. There’s nothing more special than the last note he wrote."

Anna chose a floral design for her tattoo on her thigh, while Abrielle's tattoo on the inside of her arm has her dad's exact handwriting.

The two sisters described their dad as a "selfless person" who was "at peace" with his life.

Anna also shared a video on TikTok with photos of her dad, as well as some short clips of her and her sister getting their tattoos.

She also added some captions to the clip, which read: "Life is so empty without his smile, his humour, and the love he projected onto others.

"I'm so thankful that he was my dad. He will forever be missed."

The video attracted many comments, by people who said they felt emotional.

One person commented: "I'm sobbing. I'm sorry for your loss."

Another added: "I am so sorry. I am hysterically crying. This is so touching. I am so happy he had such a wonderful life."

One more wrote: "This is so beautiful. What a great dad to leave you with that message."
