Sisters from Bristol open food van in Bedminster's Victoria Park

Sisters from South Bristol who launched a mobile food business a year ago have just opened their first permanent site.

After taking their quaint orange van to various events across Bristol, Kylie Lawrence and her sister Jodie will now be based in Bedminster's Victoria Park for the next three years.

Visitors will be able to purchase coffee, ice cream, lollies, freshly-made sandwiches, cakes and pastries supplied by Cakesmiths and more from the van, which is located near the playground and lodge.

Bread for the sandwiches at Stuffed, which replaces Mrs Brown's Café after its eight-year stint, comes from Mark's Bread on North Street.

"This is our first permanent spot and we are buzzing," said Kylie, aged 32.

"We had our first day yesterday and were rushed off our feet which was great. Everyone was so lovely and wished us luck for the future.

"It's a fantastic spot in a great park and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to be.

"It's the first time Jodie and I have ever worked together but we've always got on really well so we're looking forward to the next three years here."

The sisters were picked by Bristol City Council to take on the site after the departure of Mrs Brown's Café following a secret bidding process - despite the fact they submitted their forms just 10 minutes before the deadline.

Before launching Stuffed, both Kylie and Jodie worked in offices in Bristol.

Inspired by food vans they visited around the city, they fulfilled their joint dream by launching the business a year ago and said it is going better than they ever could have hoped.
