Sister of speedboat-killer victim Charlotte Brown names baby boy Charlie in her memory

The sister of speedboat-killer victim Charlotte Brown has kept her memory alive by naming her son Charlie.

Our pictures show Katie Brown tenderly cradling the lad, named after Charlotte who drowned in the Thames while on a date with web designer Jack Shepherd in December 2015.

The 13-month-old features in documentary The Speedboat Killer: The Killing of Charlotte Brown, airing on ITV2 at 9pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Katie tells the programme: “I never had names picked out, but I was determined to name my first child after her and then I found out I was having a boy, so we’ve got our little Charlie.”

Charlotte, 24, of Clacton, Essex, had gone for dinner with Shepherd at London’s Shard before he offered her a joyride on his defective speedboat.

She drowned after being thrown from the boat when it hit a submerged log.

The pair had just met on dating website OkCupid.

Shepherd, 33, caused outrage by going on the run to the former Soviet republic of Georgia, missing his trial.
