Sister of Kerry nurse who died in crash issues heartfelt appeal after 'horrendous' experience

The sister of an Irish nurse who died in a car accident has issued an appeal to road users following her family's "horrendous" experience.

Kerrie Browne, 26, tragically died last October 2 after a two-vehicle crash on the N21 between Killarney and Limerick.

The collision happened as the former London Rose, from Brosna, Co Kerry, was returning from work at University Hospital Kerry.

Last weekend, Kerrie's sister Andrea spoke at a 5km walk and run in her memory when she issued a road safety appeal.

She said: "One life lost on Irish roads is one life too many.

"We would like to add our voice to the road safety message being issued by groups like the Road Safety Authority and PARC.

"We don't want to see any other family go through what we have. It has been absolutely horrendous."

Kerrie had spent several years working in London and competed in the London Rose contest while she lived there.

She had recently returned home after finding a job at University Hospital Kerry.

She was laid to rest at St Carthage's Church, Brosna on October 7.
