Sister Act is coming to Manchester's Palace Theatre in June 2020 - here's where to get tickets

A new stage production of hit 90s comedy Sister Act is due to come to Manchester next year.

The Palace Theatre will host the run between June 22 to July 4 with tickets set to go on sale for it early next week.

The play will be produced by Whoopi Goldberg herself and is due to star Brenda Edwards as Deloris Van Cartier.

Earlier this week, the re-worked production was confirmed for a spell on London's West End while dates around the UK in Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Leicester have also been confirmed.

Tickets

ATG TheatreCard members can get their hands on tickets from next Monday, July 15.

General sale goes on sale the following day, Tuesday July 16. You can get tickets here.

On reviving the larger-than-life character and the decision to hand the role to Deloris Van Cartier, Goldberg said: "Deloris is a big fun character with lots of personality!"

"Brenda auditioned for this show when it first happened in the UK and didn't get the part because she was too old, so we've rectified that!"

"Previous versions have had Deloris as a 23-year-old - but there are different stakes when you're older. You can be much more irreverent when you're older than you can be when you're in your twenties and thirties. Time makes you funnier!"
