Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said that the public needs to be reassured in terms of the capabilities of local police forces as prime enforcers of security.
He said that policemen have an array of qualifications “which enable them to carry out the task of protecting the country efficiently.”
“We have achieved good results in our confrontations with evil,” said Sisi, referring to extremists and corruption.
“The state has regained its prestige, and the police are the watchful eye overseeing national security and safety,” Sisi said, praising the sacrifices of policemen nationwide.
Sisi visited the local police college (east of Cairo) on Friday morning, where he inspected a drill.
He gave a speech to the students, and then shared breakfast with them in the presence of Interior Minister Majdi Abdel Ghaffar.
“You have to uphold and reflect noble military values,” Sisi told police academy students.
"The army and police are on the front line on behalf of the Egyptians," he said, adding: “We have achieved good results in our confrontation with the people of evil, and we continue to achieve victory.”
Sisi thanked the students' parents, saying their children’s sacrifice and dedication to shield and preserve the homeland is upmost appreciated.
Egyptian armed forces continue comprehensive military operation “Sinai 2018", which targets terror strongholds in North Sinai, carrying out Sisi’s promise to impose security and stability in the Sinai Peninsula.
