Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Sunday congratulated Egypt's handball team for winning the bronze at the Men's Junior U21 World Championship in Spain.
Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said Sisi hailed the performance of the Egyptian team and their achievements.
Egypt's national handball team won the bronze after defeating Portugal 27/37.
The Egyptian team failed to reach the tournament’s final after a narrow 35-33 loss to France on Saturday.
Egypt reached the final in 1993 when they made history by winning the trophy at home.
