
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has affirmed his country’s firm stance to maintaining security in the Gulf.
This came during his meeting with the Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives Fawzia Zeinal in Cairo on Thursday.
During the meeting, Sisi underlined both countries' mutual positions on bilateral and regional issues.
According to the presidential spokesperson, Sisi stressed his country’s keenness to develop distinguished bilateral ties at various levels.
"Bahrain’s government and people are proud of the strong historical and close ties that unite them with Egypt and its people in various fields," a presidential statement quoted Zeinal as saying.
She further underscored the kingdom’s keenness to bolster bilateral cooperation at all levels, commending the development achievement across Egypt.
Zeinal praised the Egyptian pivotal role in the region, describing it as the “key pillar for the security and stability of the Arab world.”
She also stressed Cairo’s keenness to enhance solidarity among Arab countries and advance joint Arab action.
The meeting touched on means to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields, especially at the parliamentary level, as well as consultations regarding regional developments, the spokesman added.
