Thailand will face Southeast Asian arch-rivals Vietnam while India meet Curacao in the opening games of the King's Cup next month following yesterday's draw.

The 47th edition of the annual tournament will be held at Buriram United's Chang Arena from June 5-8.

After the first two games on June 5, the winners will meet in the final and the losers play in the third-place play-off on June 8.

Thailand coach Sirisak Yodyardthai hopes the War Elephants will lift the trophy on home soil.

At a press conference yesterday, he said he will announce on May 15 his initial 35-man team that will be trimmed to 23 later.

According to Sirisak, one player who will surely be in the squad is striker Teerasil Dangda, who has played 99 times for Thailand.

"Teerasil will earn his 100th cap. He is a great player and a good example for young players. I think he will be motivated to play well by the feat he has achieved," the coach said.

"Vietnam have had good results over the past few years. I am sure that our players will want to prove that which country is the real No.1 team in Asean.

"My goal is to win the tournament."

Reigning Southeast Asian champions Vietnam are No.98 and Thailand No.114 in the latest Fifa rankings.

Curacao are ranked 82nd and India 101st.

Football Association of Thailand president Somyot Poompunmuang said the tournament will be held at Chang Arena instead of Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium because the venue is under renovation.

Tickets for the tournament will be on sale from May 16 at Thai Ticket Major outlets and Chang Arena.
