Siriki Dembele Rangers transfer news as Peterborough boss tells interested clubs to up bids for in-demand star

Peterborough winger Siriki Dembele will be considered for selection despite on-going links with a move to Rangers.

Dembele was placed on the transfer list at London Road as contract talks on a new deal at the Championship club stalled.

Steven Gerrard is reportedly a long-term admirer of the 24-year-old with a number of clubs also tracking him from the English second tier.

However, with the club set to kick-off their pre-season boss Darren Ferguson insists there has been no firm offers for the playmaker.

Ferguson insists he is confident of bringing Dembele back into his first-team plans if they don't sell up this summer - with the side holding out for a "multi-million pound offer."

He told the Peterborough Telegraph : “I can’t see us selling anyone before the season starts. Championship clubs have been very quiet in general and we have had no offers for Siriki, not ones that will turn our heads at least.

“Siriki is therefore very much part of my plans. If he trains well he will be in contention to play and he has trained very well so far.

“All the players on the transfer list will be considered for selection while they are still here.”

Dembele is no in the final 12 months of his Peterborough contract, and club policy dictates that he is placed on the transfer list.

Celtic have also reportedly been considering a move for the attacker alongside the likes Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham.
