Siriki Dembele Rangers and Celtic transfer tug of war twist as Peterborough spark agent row

Barry Fry has accused reported Rangers and Celtic target Siriki Dembele’s agent of mischief making in a bid to earn the Peterborough striker a move.

The Glasgow rivals have been linked with the 24-year-old Ivorian winger throughout the summer.

Fry name-checked Rangers in when he listed a string of clubs who had watched the attacker.

He has also noted the long held interest of Celtic in the attacker, with his brother Karamoko already in Glasgow's east end.

And English Championship rivals Bournemouth, Stoke and Fulham were all linked with the Posh sensation at the weekend.

Dembele was placed on the transfer list last month as contract talks on a new deal at the Championship club stalled.

Despite Dembele making his intentions to leave the Posh clear, director of football Fry previously stated they don't have to sell-up having snapped him up cheap from Grimsby in 2018.

And the London Road chief addressed the latest speculation as he pointed the finger at Dembele’s representative.

Fry said: “As for Siriki I suspect that’s his agent trying to drum up interest. I’ve heard nothing from any of those clubs.

“Fulham have been interested in Siriki for a while, but I’ve had no contact from them recently.”
